About Concert Band

Concert Band is a group of woodwind, brass and percussion players that rehearse once a week and take on many performance opportunities. Concert Band is the premier ensemble at the school and features a wide range of teaching staff in support. 2 professional musicians are also employed to run sectionals with the students. The musicians then sit in with the band, including modelling correct technique and how to play difficult passages of music.

Instrument Hire

A variety of instrument hire is available through the department of education. Currently there are 2 methods of instrument hire. Each instrument hire form is provided below.

• Instruments owned by the school (Internal)

• Instruments from the CARL program (External)

How do I join?

A permission note is available from the Creative Arts Staffroom. Concert Band. All levels of experience are welcome to attend. Please contact Mr Lane for more information. Year 7 and 8 students will have group lessons provided at no charge, and excellent instrument hire is available.
